Self defence without aggression
why choose us
We have a direct link to the founder
Our school was started by Suzuki Toshinobu sensei, a direct student of the founder. The close relationship between Suzuki Toshinobu and Morehei Ueshiba is evidenced by the photograph of Toshinobu sensei seated on the right hand side of the founder.
Our teachers are highly experienced and accredited
Norwich branch instructors have a combined experience of over 60 years of training in aikido and are all accredited by the British Aikido Board. Our club has two Japanese-awarded shihans. This is an honorific title conferring the status of "master instructor".
We have a happy and mutually supportive club
It is a good idea to judge a club by its students and the atmosphere during training. Our sessions are enjoyable and our students are sociable and supportive of each other. We have a number of social activities during the year.
Seminar attendee comment: "You have created such a happy, vibrant and inclusive club, but at the same time with such a serious and focused attitude to learning at all times . . . I could not have enjoyed the weekend more".
We teach aikido for the love of the art
We try to ensure that our club is self-supportive financially but we do not see it as a means to make money. Our focus is on teaching rather than on fees.
