OTHER COSTS
After three sessions you will be required to apply for martial arts insurance cover. This is provided by the British Aikido Board through the Aikido Development Society and costs £20 per year. Note that this insurance provides legal cover in the event that you injure someone. It does not cover you for personal injury. On-line applications for new members or renewals can be accessed by using the following button.
Training uniform. Eventually you may want to purchase an aikido training suit ("gi"). These cost around £40- £50 new.
Weapons: we train occasionally with weapons - primarily wooden sword and staff - as a means of developing greater understanding of aikido principles. The club has a number of weapons but you may want to buy your own . Cost depends on quality and ranges upward from about £15 each.
